Seventeen Practical Nursing students from Red River Technology Center recently received their pins and diplomas during a graduation ceremony hosted June 20 at the Delbert E. Morrison Health Careers Building Auditorium.

Seventeen Practical Nursing students from Red River Technology Center recently received their pins and diplomas during a graduation ceremony hosted June 20 at the Delbert E. Morrison Health Careers Building Auditorium.
Seventeen Practical Nursing students from Red River Technology Center recently received their pins and diplomas during a graduation ceremony hosted June 20 at the Delbert E. Morrison Health Careers Building Auditorium.
Assistant Superintendent Brook Holding delivered the welcome to the crowd of graduates, family and friends. Members of the 49th Practical Nursing class were then honored for their year of hard work with numerous scholarships and other achievement awards.
Red River Technology Center’s Program Director Misty Wade recognized the graduates who had previously received scholarships and awards from organizations.
The following organizations have previously awarded scholarships: DRH Auxilary, DHS Class of 1968, Duncan Rotary Club, John E. Lillard Scholarship, Owl Club of Duncan, Oklahoma Career Tech Foundation, Otha Grimes Scholarship, Jerry Morris Scholarship Committee, The Duncan Optimist Organization, Martha Overstreet, The Philanthropic Education Organization (GS Chapter), Horatio Alger, Rodney J. Love/Next Step, Duncan Noon Lion’s Club and Oklahoma’s Promise Scholarships.
Those receiving awards on the night of graduation were: Kyleigh Kurszewski received Outstanding Fellow Classmate, voted by peers. Stephanie Beltran received the Earlene Werner Legacy Award. Alyssa Massey received the Award for Outstanding Theory Knowledge. Simone DeThomas received the Award for Outstanding Clinical Practice. Pennypacker Family Nurse Practitioners received an award for Best Clinical Facility. Saela Sullins and Michelle Chavez received the Outstanding Nurse Mentor.
Robin Anderson, Simone DeThomas, Shawna Guffey, and Alexis Johnson represented the top 10% of the 2023-2024 Practical Nursing class. They were also inducted into the National Technical Honor Society.
Outstanding Students for the Practical Nursing Program this year were Angela Ervin, Kyleigh Kurszewski and Nichzdaly Sepulveda.
Practical Nursing Director Amanda Churchman, RN, introduced the graduates while Program Director, Misty Wade, presented diplomas. Practical Nursing instructors Krissy Bohn, RN, and Liz Baxter, RN, presented nursing pins to the graduates, while each graduate was pinned by a member of their family.
The 2023-2024 graduates are: Robin Anderson, Stephanie Beltran, Anna Benton, Chloe Denton, Simone DeThomas, Samera Dorris, Angela Ervin, Shawna Guffey, Autumn Jackson, Alexis Johnson, Kiariana Keith, Kyleigh Kurszewski, Hannah Lamons, Alyssa Massey, Meagan Morriston, Nichzdaly Sepulveda and Rachaele Stephenson.
