Iron Road Partners, a New York-based regulatory consulting firm focusing on investment managers, has hired Jason Harper as its first chief technology officer.
In his new role, Harper will lead the development and implementation of technology that helps clients simplify their risk, regulatory, and compliance functions.
He brings more than 20 years of experience at B2B and B2C firms leading teams in backend services, enterprise software, video streaming, video and voice communications, data and analytics, mobile apps, and embedded software.
Harper joins Iron Road from Fall Forward, a venture studio for tech startups, where he spent a year as founding CTO. Before that, he was CTO of CoreDial, a unified communications-as-a-service platform, and VP of engineering at GameChanger Media.
Earlier in his career, Harper served as VP of infrastructure software development at Vidyo and senior director of cloud software at ShoreTel. He began his career at Aspect Software, holding roles in engineering and systems architecture.
Harper has a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan.
“We’re heading into a perfect storm of increasing compliance obligations paired with tighter compliance budgets,” said Igor Rozenblit, founder and partner at Iron Road Partners. “Having a technology leader of Jason’s caliber, coupled with Iron Road’s compliance expertise, puts us in a unique position to help firms weather this storm.”
Iron Road was founded in 2021 and has 15 employees listed on LinkedIn. The firm specializes in providing investment managers with services in strategic advisory, ongoing compliance, and regulatory marketing and advertising reviews.
The firm’s strategic advisory offerings include mock audits and compliance assessments, policy design, conflict of interest review, M&A due diligence, operational due diligence, and compliance program costs analyses and optimization.
“Technology is underused in meeting the investment management industry’s compliance responsibilities, and we see major opportunities for future efficiency gains,” Harper said. “I am excited to combine my background in software development with Iron Road’s industry expertise to help our clients tackle ever-increasing compliance challenges.”
