Purdue Teaching Academy appoints Newell, Turner from engineering technology – Purdue Polytechnic Institute – Purdue Polytechnic Institute

As reported by Purdue Today, the Purdue University Teaching Academy has announced six inductees for 2024, in recognition of outstanding and scholarly teaching in graduate, undergraduate or engagement programs.
Two of the six inductees come from Purdue Polytechnic’s School of Engineering Technology. Brittany Newell, an expert in agricultural and biological engineering, is based in Purdue’s West Lafayette campus, and Matthew Turner, an expert in electrical engineering, represents Purdue Polytechnic in New Albany, the college’s southernmost location in Indiana.
Candidates were identified by their individual unit based upon evidence of excellence in teaching, innovation in teaching methodology, teaching-related service and scholarship in teaching and learning. 
Altogether, the new Teaching Academy fellows and their disciplines are as follows:
The Teaching Academy strives to bring together the best teaching faculty and graduate students across campus to create a collective voice for teaching excellence. In partnership with the Center for Instructional Excellence, the Teaching Academy sponsors a variety of programs and activities fostering educational creativity, innovation and effectiveness both in and outside the classroom.
Turner stated that he was “very honored” to be inducted.
“My thanks to the Teaching Academy members for their leadership in teaching excellence and to the administration, faculty and staff of Purdue Polytechnic for creating a work environment the fosters and supports world-class classroom teaching.”
